Terms of service

Last updated 26 October 2026

These terms are a contract between Res Digital (“we”, “us”) and the club or organisation that subscribes to Matchday (“you”). Please read them with our Privacy policy.

1. The agreement

By creating an account or subscribing you accept these terms on behalf of your club and confirm you are at least 18 and authorised to do so. Matchday is a business service for clubs and organisations; consumer cancellation rights for distance contracts do not apply to it.

2. Accounts & staff

  • Keep your login details secure. You're responsible for activity under your account and your club.
  • The club owner can invite staff (admins, posters, viewers) up to the plan's user limit and is responsible for what they do in Matchday. Remove anyone who should no longer have access.
  • Give us accurate information and keep your email address up to date, as we use it for important notices.

3. Plans, billing & cancellation

  • Matchday is sold per team: each team has its own account and its own subscription (Basic, Pro or Elite), with its own squad, fixtures, sponsors, channels and staff. Prices and what each plan includes are shown on the Billing page. Prices are in GBP and include VAT.
  • Monthly plans have a 12-month minimum term, billed monthly in advance by Stripe. Annual plans are paid for 12 months up front. After the first 12 months, monthly plans continue month to month until cancelled, and annual plans renew for another year.
  • You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from Billing; changes are prorated. If you cancel a monthly plan during its first 12 months, the plan ends at the end of the minimum term: monthly payments continue and you keep full access until then. After the minimum term, or on an annual plan, cancelling stops renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund partial periods unless required by law.
  • If a payment fails we'll retry and let you know. If it remains unpaid, access may be paused until the subscription is brought up to date.
  • Deleting a team account permanently deletes that team's data and cancels its subscription. A team on a monthly plan within its 12-month minimum term can be deleted once the term has ended (cancel it first so it ends then), or by contacting us.
  • We'll give at least 30 days' notice of price changes; they apply from your next renewal.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use Matchday to create or publish content that:

  • is abusive, discriminatory, hateful, harassing, threatening or defamatory, including about players, officials, opponents or supporters;
  • is sexually explicit, violent or otherwise harmful, or endangers children;
  • includes a person's photo or personal details without the permissions your club needs (see “Your content”);
  • infringes copyright, trade marks or image rights (e.g. broadcast footage or other clubs' crests used misleadingly);
  • is spam, misleading, or breaks the rules of Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X or your league/FA.

You also must not attempt to break or overload the service, access other clubs' data, resell access, or scrape the service.

5. Your content

  • You own the content you upload and publish. You give us a licence to store, process and publish it only to provide Matchday to you.
  • You're responsible for having the rights and consents needed for everything you upload, including player photos and details, and parental/guardian consent for under-18s in line with your safeguarding policy.
  • Posts are published to the channels you choose, under your accounts. Check posts before publishing; AI drafts are suggestions you must review.
  • Where you add other people's personal data, you are the controller and we process it for you as described in our Privacy policy.

6. Social platforms & third parties

Publishing relies on Meta, X and other providers (API-Football, OpenAI, Stripe). Their services, rate limits, approvals and terms are outside our control and can change. We're not responsible for a third-party outage, a platform rejecting or removing a post, or charges a provider makes to you directly (such as OpenAI usage billed to your own key).

7. Availability & changes

We work hard to keep Matchday available, especially on match days, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may improve or change features; we won't materially reduce the core features of your paid plan during a billing period without notice. Elite clubs receive priority support with a 4-hour response target during UK business hours; other plans receive a response within 2 business days.

8. Liability

  • Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't be limited by law.
  • We aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, revenue, sponsorship, goodwill or data you could have backed up, or for content you publish.
  • Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.
  • You'll compensate us for claims arising from content you publish through Matchday or your breach of these terms.

9. Suspension & termination

You can stop using Matchday at any time by cancelling or deleting your club. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms (for example, publishing harmful content) or doesn't pay, usually after a warning. On termination your data is deleted as set out in our Privacy policy.

10. General

We may update these terms; we'll notify account holders of material changes at least 30 days in advance. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions: hello@res.digital.
